Yoga and Strong Bones Challenges
Susannah will guide you through several Forever Yoga sequences, including her Morning Routine, “The Daily 5” and her popular Hip Happiness Yoga Flow. Classes will focus on balance, posture, strength, and fall prevention. Each session will be geared towards all levels and feature the most beneficial movements and postures for osteoporosis. Modifications, including the use of chairs as needed, will be offered.

Strength Training
NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Susan Richter Papartsian, is returning to lead the entire group in an osteoporosis-safe strength training session using dumbbells, resistance bands and body weight. Additional breakout sessions will be offered for basic technique coaching while experienced lifters will have the use of the Kriplau gym facility to do their personal workouts.

Kripalu has been my home away from home for many years. It's a dream come true to share this special place with you. At Kripalu, you won't find a luxury hotel or spa, but a warm and nurturing environment conducive to personal and spiritual growth.
Expect delicious healthy food, simple accommodations (note that some rooms include sharing a hall bathroom), opportunities for massage and other "healing arts", and all levels of optional activities including Yoga and Yoga Dance.

Along with the yoga classes and strength training, we will also take time to discuss—in a safe and confidential environment—the challenges we face with a diagnosis of osteoporosis. It will be a give-and-take of information, ideas, and techniques. You will go home feeling empowered to uplevel your routines to support your long-term health.

Program Fee + Accommodation
The cost for the Strong Bones Retreat is the program fee of $350 plus Kripalu’s fee of $984-$1434 (plus tax), depending on accommodation choice. This includes 3 nights' accommodation, all meals, use of facilities, Kripalu yoga and “R&R” activities ["Healing Arts" sessions (massage, etc) and Transportation are not included].
Use the link below to reserve your spot with a $350 program fee. You'll have the option to pay via Paypal (it will prompt you to log in to your account) or to use a credit card instead (no login required).
The program fee, payable to me, covers your enrollment in the Strong Bones retreat private group program. The remainder of your investment will depend on your accommodation choice and be payable directly to Kripalu.
You will receive a special link to book your accommodations on or about June 1st.
Retreat Schedule
The schedule is expanded this year by a full day to allow for a more relaxing and enriching retreat experience. Weather permitting, I'll be leading afternoon hikes. There will be more opportunities to participate in Kripalu’s “R&R” offerings including yoga, yoga dance, meditation classes, and other mini-workshops. Book a relaxing massage or other “healing art” (additional charge) or simply spend some downtime reading, journaling, or napping. You’re guaranteed to arrive home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Your cup will be full.

This program is NOT appropriate for those who are at high risk for fracture. To benefit fully from this retreat you must be able to do basic standing movements. Though modifications will be offered for individual physical limitations, there is always a risk of injury with any physical activity. For questions regarding this please get in touch so we can discuss any concerns.
Cancellation Policy
Your $350 Program Fee is non-refundable after June 1 unless your spot can be filled by someone else.
Kripalu's cancellation policy is as follows:
Payments made will be refunded in full (less a $50 processing fee) if canceled 15 or more days prior to the Program or Service start date. If you cancel between 14 days and one day in advance, a nonrefundable credit to your Kripalu account (less a $50 processing fee) will be held for one year from the date of issue. No credit or refund is available if you cancel on your arrival day, do not show up, leave a program, event, or accommodation early, or if you arrive on campus with symptoms of active infection. If you test positive for Covid-19 during your retreat you must leave Kripalu. If you are required to leave due to a positive Covid-19 test, you will be eligible for a credit on account valid for 1 year from the date of issue for the portion missed due to early departure.
